Gresham-Barlow School District selects principal for Deep Creek-Damascus K-8 School
The Gresham-Barlow School District has selected Barb Keeton to be the new principal of Deep Creek-Damascus K-8. Keeton is currently the principal of North Marion Middle School in Aurora, Oregon. She has served in that position four years. Prior to that she taught school at both the elementary and middle school levels.
“Barb Keeton’s experience in both elementary and middle school settings makes her a perfect fit for Deep Creek-Damascus K-8 School,” said Superintendent Jim Schlachter. “She has the qualities and skills needed to be successful in a school that serves a wide variety of ages.”
Keeton’s educational career spans 20 years. After serving as an elementary school parent volunteer, she became an instructional assistant. In addition to teaching elementary and middle school, she has also worked as a reading specialist.
Keeton was selected for the Deep Creek-Damascus principalship after an extensive interview process that included input from school staff and parents.
Keeton will replace Lori Walter who will become principal of West Gresham Elementary School beginning July 1.
